Meet Principal Fletcher

It is with great pleasure that I get to call myself the principal of Sunset Elementary School. I am excited to be part of the Sunset family and to be part of such an amazing community. I've seen firsthand the positive impact that Sunset has had on its student body and am thrilled to lead this team!

 

This will be my thirty-first year in education and I have spent that time in a variety of leadership roles. This will be my third year at Sunset. I've taught grades six through twelve at East Ave, Livermore and Granada High School as a Core, Leadership, and Social Studies teacher. I've served as Department Chair, Athletic Director, Activities Director, head coach at both Livermore High School and Las Positas Community College as well as an administrator over that time. Most recently I was serving as the Vice Principal at Mendenhall Middle School after serving as a VP at LHS.

 

Personally, I am a product of the LVJUSD school system as a student at Portola, Sonoma, East Ave and both Livermore and Vineyard High Schools. I love the community and have been fortunate to raise two children in Livermore. My son and daughter are Granada High School graduates and are both currently attending San Diego State University. My wife is a 5th grade teacher at Smith Elementary and we live less than a mile from Sunset. We are proud to be part of LVJUSD, where high standards and a focus on student success is a proven priority.  

 

I strongly believe that every child can be successful and am appreciative of the support our students get from the Sunset staff and community. I'm looking forward to another great year. Given all that Sunset has come to represent with an exemplary track record and dedicated staff, I'm proud to lead us through this elementary step of our journey.
